Q: I would like a lampshade made, can I bring my own fabric?
A: Yes, we love to see other fabrics and encourage people to bring them in for a custom made shade. We prefer not to use synthetics or fabrics with polyester. We can always do a quick test on the fabric to make sure it's suitable and that it will look fantastic as a shade.
Q: Can I bring a lamp in to have a shade made?
A: Yes, it is always a good idea if you are able to bring your lampbase or floor lamp in. We are then able to try different sized shades or make mock-ups to make sure you get the shade you want.
Q: Does it cost more to have a custom made lampshade?
A: No, whether you buy the same sized shade off the shelf in our shop or spend 30mins with us trying on every shade we have. Price is based on fabric and size. Our custom shade service and friendly advice is all part of what we do.
Q: How long does it take to have a custom made shade?
A: It normally takes 2 weeks as a guide. Custom rings/fittings that are non standard take 4-6 weeks. It will most likely be finished sooner, but we can discuss this with you when ordering. A 24 hour turnaround service is possible if needed and standard fittings and in stock fabric is available.
Q: Do you send interstate?
A: Yes, we use a courier service that delivers overnight to most places throughout Australia. Email us your requirements.
Q: Do you take items on consignment?
A: No, we no longer sell on consignment.
Q: Are you open on the weekends?
Q: Do you still buy 60's-70's furniture & ceramics?
A: We no longer buy or sell furniture, but our other family run business, 'Finishing Touches Restorations' does, Contact them directly. We do however buy interesting 60's-70's ceramic lampbase though.
